If you already came to Madrid, you probably know Callao. That square on Gran Via, with a big movie theater, and a building holding a huge Schweppes sign, illuminated at night of course. Don’t remember? Have a look:

Plaza de Callao
Maybe once you had a connection in Callao metro station (yellow line (5) and green line (3)). You probably think its just any station.
Well, actually you are wrong. At least at the moment.
Since the end of 2009 and until 18th of January 2010, the walls of Callao metro station are covered with… ads from Ebay. But not a commercial ad for Ebay. No no. Real ads from real people.
This great idea from Ebayanuncios.es is to promote classified ads, something that is pretty popular in other countries but not so much in Spain, and of course to lead people to go check out Ebayanuncios.es.
This marketing event started just before Christmas : every person going accross Callao station could stop and have a look at more than 7000 ads printed on a picture format and stuck onto the walls. A very good way to buy something before Christmas, or King’s Day (more on this soon), or resell your gifts afterwards.
Maybe YOUR ad is there!

Ebay Anuncios in Madrid
A video and an online article about this
Here on youtube you can find a video that shows the complete installation of this wall of adds, from start until you can’t see anything of the original wall anymore. Its impressive.
Here is an article from adn.es, in Spanish, about this: http://www.adn.es/local/madrid/20091228/NWS-0340-Callao-clasificados-anuncios-inundan-paredes.html

Nicolas.

marrant… ou agressif, invasif…
Nicolas on 09.01.2010

Nicolas on 10.01.2010
