Muse – The Resistance Tour @ Anvers
On Monday 02nd November, i went to see Muse gig at Anvers (Antwerp) in Belgium with my two really good friends Isabelle and Vladimir.
That concert was just amazing. Unbelievable. Seriously, i have no words to describe how great the concert was. So i will probably repeat some words like incredible, amazing, … Sorry in advance for my limited vocabulary

Muse playing Uprising at Anvers. You can see the three towers, the screen, and the platform.
The concert started in an incredible way. Music and lights off. Finally ( we were waiting already for 45 mn). The three towers we were seeing starts changing. They were actually three huge screens. Little by little they light up, until they get completely shining with white rectangles… meanwhile, some music has started. We can now discern white electronic shapes climbing some stairs (we are still talking about the screen). They climb, they climb, it seems they are all equal and they will never stop – it actually kind of reminded me The Wall from Pink Floyd, you know, this kind of « we are all equal and we are all doing the same exact thing without really thinking »… Suddenly, one of the « electronic » character starts falling, followed by other…
And BAM.
The whole screen suddenly falls down like a curtain. Lights off. Big red explosion, and…
There THEY are. The three musicians of Muse.Matthew Bellamy, the lead vocalist, guitarist and pianist. Dominic Howard, the drummer. Christopher Wolstenholme, the bassist and backing vocalist. The three of them inside the towers. Up on a platform, playing Uprising, their last single. Everybody’s jumping.
The moment we were all waiting for.
Muse is playing.
Everybody’s crazy, screaming, shooting, jumping, dancing. *We wiiiill beee victoooooriouuus*.
Then, they go with an other of their new album song: Resistance. My favourite of their new CD. Amazing as well. Some kind of programming codes passes by the big screens. They are still on the platform. The end of the song comes…
Silence.
And then. New Born starts. WOW everybody gets even crazier. Can you imagine this? They play New Born as a thrid song. To me it’s a mythical song. I can’t imagine what the rest of the concert will be like. They are back right on the stage, and playing with some green light. Lots of green lights. Well. Green laser lights. Everywhere in the Sportpaleis. Everybody has his head watching towards the roof, full of green lights. Amazing visual effects again.
I won’t describe every visual effects or every songs they played. I remember that at some point there were big plastic balls over our heads. At some other point, a big map of the world describing the United States of Eurasia they sing about. For Undisclosed Desires, a very nice visual effect on the screen playing with lots of colors – imagine the « Resistance » CD front image on the screen, and animated. Everybody probably lost part of their vocal chords on Plug In Baby….
